Biography

Luis Rodolfo Garcia Carrillo was born in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico in 1980. He received his B.S. in Electronic Engineering in 2003, and his M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2007, both from the Institute of Technology of La Laguna, Coahuila, Mexico. He received his Ph.D. in Control Systems from the University of Technology of Compiegne, (Sorbonne Universités) France, in 2011, where he was advised by Professor Rogelio Lozano.

From 2012 to 2013, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Control, Dynamical Systems and Computation at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was working with Professor Joao Hespanha. During this time he was also a researcher in the Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies. From July 2013 to July 2020 he was an assistant professor of Engineering at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. He moved to New Mexico State University in August 2020, where he currently holds an assistant professor position with the Klipsch School of Electrical & Computer Engineering.

  • 2023-06-01 : Diego Chavez Arana has joined our grup. He stared his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in the area of Neuromorphic Control Systems, under the supervision of Luis Rodolfo Garcia Carrillo and Andrew T. Sornborger (LANL).

  • 2021-10-29 : I participated with a plenary talk at the XXIII Robotics Mexican Congress.

  • 2020-06-01 : I am serving as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Robotics and AI.

  • 2019-09-27 : My Student Gabriel Alexis Guijarro Reyes finished second place in the 2019 CAHSI hackaton at 2019 HENAAC.

  • 2019-07-10 : Our student Baoquian Wang defended his Master Thesis entitled: 3-D Hybrid Trajectory Modeling for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
